Careers

Small firm. Real work.

Harkright is two people. There is no analyst bench, no rotation program, and no one between you and the partners. If you work with us, you work with us.

We are searching for one business to buy and operate. That means the work is narrow and real: finding companies, talking to owners, and getting to a defensible answer on whether a business is worth buying. Nobody here is building slides that will not be read.

Search Internship

We work with a small number of interns each term on live deal sourcing and evaluation. This is not a shadowing role. You will own work that affects which businesses we pursue.

We work with a small number of interns each term… which businesses we pursue

This is a fully remote position with potential facetime in Houston, or the DC, Maryland, Virginia corridor, if you are local.

What you would do

  • Review financials and CIMs and write up what stands out
  • Research industries we are underwriting and tell us what we are missing
  • Build and qualify target lists in our sectors and geographies
  • Sit in on broker and seller calls, and provide insights
  • Support direct outreach to business owners

Who this fits

  • You are interested in acquiring and operating businesses, not in a credential
  • You can write a clear paragraph and defend a number
  • You are comfortable with a small amount of instruction and a large amount of responsibility
  • You want real deal experience early
What you get is a full view of how a search runs, from first list to seller call

How to apply

Send a resume and a short note to careers@harkright.com. In the note, tell us about one business you find interesting and why. It does not need to be in our sectors and it does not need to be for sale. We are more interested in how you think about a business than in where you have worked.
We read everything and we reply either way.

No open roles

We do not have an open role right now. If you are interested in what we are building, send a note to careers@harkright.com anyway. We keep track of people we would want to work with.
